Description
Currently E-6 development is only by request! Send me a mail if you want to have some developed.
Development and processing for a single roll of E-6 slide film (such as Ektachrome or Provia/Velvia). I develop slides using the full 6-bath process for maximum color accuracy. Note that the volume of slide film I receive is very low and the cost of chemistry is very high, so your roll will be batched with others meaning it can take up to a month to be processed!
I can develop 35mm/135, disposables, 120, 220, 620, 126, 127, 110 and 16mm short-ends, up to a maximum length of 150cm per film type. The price is the same for each film type.
TL;DR: Default scans are delivered as 8-bit (F135) or 16-bit (Coolscan) TIFF: standard size is 2000dpi/3000×2000/6MP (1600dpi/22MP for 6×9), hi-res is 4000dpi/6000×4000/24MP (3200dpi/86MP for 6×9), inverted using Kodak, Nikon or Minolta algorithms depending on the scanner. Pakon scans are not very pretty for E-6, so I’d always recommend Coolscan for slide films.
For Pakon scans, I can export 16-bit TIFFs as well, but these will be flat and will need grading. Add a note if you want those.
Development
- I develop your films by hand using a dead-accurate Jobo CPP-2 rotation machine to ensure the best results for every processing run.
- Pushing or pulling film in development costs €2,50 per roll, no matter how many stops, as I need to process these separately from other films.
- If you send in 8 films (a full processor load) and you want them all developed for the same amount of time there is no extra cost: select “None”, and add a note to your order with the amount of stops.
- If you have special requests please send me a mail first via the contact form so we can work out the details.
- I do develop souped film but you’ll have to let me know before ordering that you have a souped can. I’ll charge a bit extra as I need to run your film through my processor separately from the rest to prevent damaging other customer’s films.
Scanning
- I only scan still films, short-ends are not possible.
- Sending 220 film in for scanning will have an additional €5 fee added to your order.
- Keep in mind that the higher the DPI, the more visible the grain! The Coolscan accentuates grain quite a bit, the Pakon is softer.
35mm (Pakon or Coolscan)
- Standard scans are 2000dpi (6MP, 3000×2000) from a Pakon F-135+.
- X-Pan resolution is 6000×2000.
- More than good enough for sharing online or printing up to 20x25cm without quality loss.
- 8-bit TIFFs by default. If you want 16-bit raw ungraded TIFFs instead, add a note.
- High-res scans are 4000dpi (24MP, 6000×4000) from a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED.
- These take a lot of time to do so they’re pricy, but you can easily print up to 40x50cm from most exposures. And your pics will be higher resolution than most Frontier SP-3000 scans!
- Your files will be delivered as 16-bit TIFFs, inverted with Nikon color profiles.
- High-res XPan scans are done using the same Minolta used for medium format in 3200dpi, leading to a 30MP 9600×3200 scan.
110/120/220 (Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO)
- Standard scans are 1600dpi (22MP, 5650×3750 for 6×9) 16-bit TIFFs.
- High-res scans are 3200dpi (86MP, 11300×7550 for 6×9) 16-bit TIFFs.
Processing
- 35mm negatives are cut into strips of 6 (120 negatives depend on the negative size) and stored in transparent minilab sleeving by default. 35mm can additionally be stored in a ring binder perforated ADOX Adofile sleeve for €0,50 extra.
- I can also leave your roll uncut (add a note to your order), but make sure to add the plastic canisters (without caps) to your shipment as I will roll your negatives into a piece of paper which I ship in a canister.
Notes
- Please add a note with your order number to your parcel.
- If you’re shipping films with plastic canisters as a mailbox parcel, make sure to leave the cap off, otherwise they won’t fit through the mail slot!
- If you’re in need of cheap Ektachrome, check out Analog Amsterdam!
